Who can use Wellness Wheels' services?

Anyone! Services are specialized for seniors, disabled people, people who face barriers to mobility, and anyone who wants to experience a comfortable and leisurely trip in a Triobike in their neighbourhood.

Triobike rides are available for leisure and personal enjoyment of the outdoors. Wellness Wheels is not a taxi service, and Triobike rides are not recommended for running errands or accessing appointments.

Question 3

I know a senior who would love to go for a ride but doesn't want to go alone. Can I ride with them?

Absolutely! We strive to make all passengers feel comfortable and safe during their ride. Plus, the Triobike can comfortably seat two adults!

Where can I go on a Triobike ride?

Accepted Answer

Triobike rides are available for leisure and personal enjoyment of the outdoors. Wellness Wheels is not a taxi service, and Triobike rides are not recommended for running errands or accessing appointments.

Suggested Triobike rides could entail a scenic trip through your neighbourhood, a trip through a local park or garden, or a trip to get a treat from a nearby business or vendor.

PICK-UP & DROP-OFF: You'll be able to communicate your desired pick-up and drop-off location and times with your volunteer operator. Rides will take place on bike-friendly routes, following the Alberta Traffic Safety Act and Regulations.

DURATION: Rides can take between 20 and 60 minutes to complete.

Can I reschedule rides?

Yes. We are happy to reschedule your ride if desired (due to poor weather conditions, personal scheduling, etc.). We will do our best to reschedule your ride for a more convenient date.

How long can a Triobike ride last?

Rides will be between 20 to 60 minutes, at the discretion of the Triobike volunteer operator.

Question 7

I want to book a ride for myself, a friend, a family member, or a client. How do I request a ride?

Requesting a ride is simple! Visit our "Request a Ride" page and submit your details. Once we have your information, a representative will be in contact with you within 24 hours to arrange your ride. Alternatively, you can call Dana Bradley directly at 780-264-1812.

Who will be operating the Triobike during my ride?

All Wellness Wheels Triobike rides will be operated by trained volunteers who have been personally vetted by Dana Bradley.

Question 9

When will Wellness Wheels be in operation?

Accepted Answer

Wellness Wheels will begin to function in June 2024.

Triobike rides will be available seasonally and will depend on favourable weather conditions (likely May through September).

Question 10

How sustainable is the Triobike?

Accepted Answer

POWER: The Triobike taxi is very environmentally friendly. The bike is powered by a battery and the operator's manual peddling.

MODEL: The Triobike taxi box is exclusively made by sustainable wood, certified with both Forest Stewardship Council and PEFC. The PEFC label guarantees that the wood comes from sustainable cultivation close to the processing facility. All Triobike Taxi boxes are made from beech wood that is between 100 to 140 years old.

Will you accept tips?

Accepted Answer

Tips are welcomed, but passengers should not feel obligated to tip. Monetary tips will be accepted gratefully, and funds will be put towards the cost and maintenance of Wellness Wheels' services.

Please note: Wellness Wheels is not a registered charity, therefore we cannot offer you a tax receipt for your financial contribution. Any donations or tips made to Wellness Wheels will be considered a gift.
